“We’re a crew with limited interests, and you don’t gamble, swear, or drink to excess. But here’s the secret to popularity: risk death to save your compatriots from being blown to bits in an ambush. Great way to make friends.”
What I love most about Six of Crows is how they portray Nina Zenik. Nina is curvy and likes food. No one shames her for it and her confidence is never questioned because of her body type. In fact, when Nina starts loosing weight due to withdrawal, her friends are concerned and do everything to get her to eat again. And when Nina is in a better state, she eats and isn’t shamed for it or congratulated for losing weight. Her friends celebrate her eating because it means that she is in a better mental and physical state. They don’t care about her weight, they care about her.
