I just finished Sierra Burgess is a Loser, and I’m crying my eyes out. This movie is wow. The wait was so worth it.
As a fat/big girl myself, you have no idea how much this movie means to me now, and how many sensitive fibers this touched. I’m so happy to finally see movies like this one, not just a mean girl being a bitch without an apparent reason, and the hot jock being an asshole, and the main character not being just a nerdy girl who gets a makeover and puff, just like that her whole life is solved. I loved seeing Sierra, I loved how strong she is, how she knows exactly who she is but also being vulnerable, I loved Veronica having a background story, I loved how Veronica and Sierra became friends, I loved Dan and how supportive he was, I loved sweet beautiful angel Jamey.
I loved every single thing about this movie, the message, how inclusive they are like with Jamey’s little brother who is deaf and Jamey doing sign language and being super sweet to him.
This movie touched me, this movie spoke to my 8,1O,15,17,18 year old self and this movie told that little girl that everything is gonna be alright, that you don’t have to worry that much about your looks or being called a loser… because at the end we are all losers.
