So… Elijah told everyone his plan in secret. They stealthily find a way to put the magic in him. Klaus survives since Elijah wants to die anyway. Hope doesn’t have to be an orphan now. Elijah reunites with Hayley and asks her to dance. Caroline and Klaus are off exploring the world. The End.
That’s the ending I’m going to pretend we just watched – because it actually makes sense and follows the foreshadowing they did ALL SEASON.

and in the end… she was his last love.
