what she means: captain america has been a huge part of my life and chris evans’s portrayal of one of my favourite characters got me through dark times and introduced me to a same but different incarnation of this character that i love. chris evans has played this character with such dignity and grace and has shown time and again that he understands the core of who steve rogers is; and despite his anxieties about taking it on, he’s grown so much in his time with steve rogers and has come to do his best to exemplify steve’s values on and off-screen. marvel is huge on legacy characters and of course the next captain america will be his own actor & character & person, but chris evans is steve rogers, and the last few years have been such a great & wonderful journey with him.
Bold of you to assume that Captain America will stop existing just because Chris Evans’ contract ended. I’ll just see a movie with Chris Evans in it and think “Cap is selling drugs now? Being an Avenger must have not paid well” and accept it as part of the MCU timeline.
Can we all take a moment to notice the difference in their styles.
Here’s Steve with this great majestic kick into a standing position and then there’s Bucky.
Bucky is like he just got told to get out of his bed by his mum.
“Ugh why do I have to get up? What did I do to deserve this? Sure u flick up Steve like a dumb prancing pony whilst I crawl around in the dirt like a mealworm.”
A few people have commented on this post saying that Bucky’s approach at getting up is more practical than Steve’s majestic swoop of a flip and I would like to point out two things
1) Steve still gets to his feet faster than Bucky (even if it’s not “practical”)
2) When has Steve Rogers ever made a decision whilst fighting that wasn’t the most Extra™️ thing that you could think of? This is a man that jumps onto grenades, out of planes without a parachute, and pulls helicopters out of the sky with sheer stubbornness. When has Steve “practical” Rogers ever drop kicked a god in the face? Never because he doesn’t exist.
