Like I get that Sutton’s mom was trying but Sutton was standing there, telling Jane and Kat about how her mom treated her as a child and the effect her neglect had on Sutton and the nightmare she grew up in and Jane was like “at least you have a mom” and it was just so ugly like yeah not having a mom affected Jane but if someone with a toxic parent is complaining about their toxic parent it’s shitty of someone to say that they should consider themselves lucky for having them
Jane just really acts like her trauma is the be all end all of everything. The way she pulled the “at least you have a mom” card was so awful, especially when it’s clear that she knows next to nothing about what Sutton went through with her mom. This was such sloppy writing to me, let Sutton be angry. Let your friend feel her fucking feelings, and don’t use your trauma to manipulate her into making amends with her mom.
