so tomorrow is thanksgiving, and i know it’s a stressful time for lots of people gathering together with nosy, noisy, maybe far ruder than necessary family members.
so, i just wanted to let you know that:
you are your own person
you have free will to continue to make your own decisions regardless of what your family thinks
any decision you made in the past is valid and can’t be changed – so it’s no use for them to bother you over it
you don’t have to discuss anything that makes you uncomfortable
your identity is valid even if you have to dress a little unlike you usually do
your sexuality is valid even if you have to hide and be asked questions about relationships you would never be in
your body is perfect, eat when you are hungry, relax when you are full, you look beautiful and these few days of food will not hurt – you are safe and holidays are a time to treat and enjoy yourself
drive safe !! lots of people are traveling and roads will probably be busy!
