personally I think there’s a real difference between say, a twelve year old sending their partner nudes and say, a sixteen year old sending their partner nudes imo

Yes, in that the 16 year old may be legal to have sex in that state. But federally, the age is 18.

The US child porn laws are strict and zero tolerance which means anyone under age sending their nudes to somebody can get busted for the production and distribution of child porn.

It has happened and the courts don’t give a rats ass if you didn’t know any better. Don’t let a mistake land you on the sex offender registry because you will be subjected to same stipulations and stigma as someone who deserves to be on there.
